Father’s Day is usually a time of celebration for families all around America. Of course, for others, it can be a very difficult and painful reminder of their losses.
Unfortunately, the Bryant family falls into the latter of these categories due to the tragic and heartbreaking death of Kobe Bean Bryant in late January. There has been an outcry of emotion and support after his death — especially from those within the NBA community.
But today, on the first Father’s Day since his passing, Vanessa made a special post directed to Kobe and it was a truly touching moment.
Needless to say, it must be a tough time for the Bryant family. Having lost both Kobe and their daughter Gianna, there is no amount of time that will eliminate the pain they must be feeling. Father’s Day will never be the same.
Hopefully, Vanessa and the remaining Bryant children will continue to get the support and help they need.
As for the rest of us, we should remember that Father’s Day means something different for everyone. While it’s usually a happy, celebratory time for families, it can often be something totally opposite for others.
So, shout-out to all the dads out there — both to those who are with us now and those who are being missed right now by their families.
