Draymond Green is one of the best defensive players in the league, and there’s no doubt that the forward has proven that he’s an elite multi-positional defender and defensive anchor within the Warriors’ scheme. He won the DPOY award during the 2016-17 season and has been the best defender on all of the Warriors’ championship-winning teams. This season, Draymond Green averaged 7.5 PPG, 7.3 RPG, and 7.0 APG.

There is no doubt that usually, Draymond Green reserves his defensive abilities for NBA games. However, recently, a video of the star blocking a young child’s shot surfaced, and it is clear that Draymond Green is still a ruthless defender when in the vicinity of any shot.

It is clear that Draymond Green didn’t mean to block the young hooper’s shot with malicious intent. He is seen laughing afterward and seems to apologize to the young hooper after the block. All of this made for a hilarious situation.

Draymond Green Will Be Key For The Warriors Next Season

There is no doubt that Draymond Green is an extremely impactful player for the Golden State Warriors. In fact, former Warriors player Festus Ezeli claimed that Draymond Green is the most important player for the Golden State Warriors, noting that the team “built a system around him”.

Draymond is the most important key to this team. Why? Because they built a system around him. They built a system around the 3 guys which is Draymond, Steph and Klay. He might not be the best player on the team, but he’s the most important.

When you miss a guy like Draymond, who calls out all the coverages, who sets great screens for Steph and Klay to get open, who is the leader and the heart of the team…of course you’re going to miss Draymond.

Draymond Green will need to be the best version of himself for the Golden State Warriors to repeat as champions in 2023. His defense, playmaking, and rebounding are all necessary for the Golden State Warriors to have success at the highest level. Simply put, Draymond Green is a winning player.

The Golden State Warriors definitely have the talent to be champions once again in the future, with a good mix of experienced veterans and talented young players. They should be considered the favorites for the 2023 championship going into the season, and we’ll see how well they do next year.
