NBA Rumors: Ben Simmons Might Not Want To Return To Sixers Next Season

Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers have been put on blast ever since their second-round elimination.

Amid heightened expectations (after capturing the East’s top seed), the Sixers found themselves unable to make any real noise in the playoffs, in large part due to the struggles of Ben and the limitations his game had on the team as a whole.

And while the Sixers are apparently resigned to the idea of keeping the multiple-time All-Star, there are some claims he might not be keen on running it back at all.

“The Sixers want to say ‘come back and let’s work on this,’ but it doesn’t seem like there’s a bridge there that is being walked across by both sides like that. I don’t know if Ben Simmons has that interest right now because things were said afterwards.

After the season, Doc Rivers said some things, Joel Embiid said some things. I know there’s been trying to smoothing out of that relationship, but it doesn’t seem like Ben is necessarily interested in that right now,”

Simmons is a 25-year-old budding star who excels on defense and is an excellent playmaker. As a 15.9 career point-per-game scorer, he can clearly put the ball in the hole, even if it’s off drives and layups.

But as his shooting woes continue to get worse, the Sixers find themselves limited, especially with Joel Embiid clogging the paint.

At this point, it’s hard to deny that a change of scenery might be best for Simmons a she looks to overcome some of his own basketball demons.

So, a trade could definitely be in the works here, and it’s probably the best move for all sides. But unless Philadelphia lowers their asking price, he might just have to stick it out for a while longer.
