NBA Rumors: Phoenix Suns Could Land Kevin Love

2 Min Read

With Kevin Love’s departure from the Cavaliers imminent, he has been in the center of the rumor mill.

As a shooting, rebounding big man with Championship experience, the 5x All-Star is expected to have more than a few suitors ahead of February’s trade deadline. But perhaps one of the most intriguing teams with reported interest in Love is the Phoenix Suns, who could pair him with Devin Booker to create a powerful offensive duo.

(per Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report)

“The Suns sit just a game-and-a-half out of the playoffs, a destination they haven’t reached since the 2009-10 season. If Love joined Phoenix, he’d reunite with Ricky Rubio, and he put up career-best numbers with Rubio as his point guard in Minnesota. Add in Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton and Kelly Oubre Jr., and the Suns could be one of the league’s best offensive teams.”

After getting off to a hot start, the Suns have been a personification of inconsistency over the last 10+ games. Still, at 16-24, they sit close enough to a postseason spot to have a reason to bolster their chances in the trade market.

No matter what reservations one has with Love, a pairing between him, Booker, and Ayton would be a lethal force to compete with offensively. And it might just be enough to finally get them over that elusive postseason hump.
