NBA Rumors: Rajon Rondo Could Return To Boston Celtics

1 Min Read

Fresh off his second Championship win, Lakers guard Rajon Rondo is entering a free agency period as an accomplished star in the twilight of his career.

The Lakers will likely have a strong interest in bringing back their point guard this offseason, but it isn’t yet guaranteed that he’ll return. In fact, one of his former clubs is rumored to have an interest in bringing back Rajon for another run: the Boston Celtics.

With Kemba Walker, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown, the Celtics already have a pretty star-studded backcourt.

But Rondo’s presence does give them a vet with Championship experience, a top-tier floor general, and a defensive pest that might help bolster their ability to slow down their opponents.

After finishing third in the East in 2019-20, the Celtics have title aspirations. So, you can expect them to be very active in the weeks to come.

Αs for Rondo, it remains to be seen where he will land. Whether in LA, Boston, or some other destination, he will be among the hottest names on the market this winter. Last season, he averaged 7.1 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds per game on 41.8% shooting.
