With the NBA trade deadline looming, changes are over the horizon, and Zach LaVine is one of the names heavily doing the rounds when it comes to trade market discussions.

The Chicago Bulls guard was one of the big names eligible to be traded alongside Washington Wizards’ Bradley Beal and has been linked to multiple franchises, most notably the Los Angeles Lakers.

While he’s been producing at a good rate for the Bulls averaging 23.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists, the Bulls haven’t had results going their way. Adding to this are some of the locker room issues surrounding the LA native giving rise to speculations that he may find a new home before the end of the season.

Per CBS Sports’ James Herbert, the Bulls have two choices —move other players on the roster, or trade LaVine and build a better roster centering around DeMar DeRozan.

If Chicago trades LaVine, who turns 28 in March, it could, in theory, either use the stuff it gets back to build a more balanced team around DeRozan or move the other guys on this list and start from the bottom.

The analyst also explained why it would make more sense to build around DeRozan. He opined that the forward was having a better second stint with the Bulls. At the time of writing, the 33-year-old is averaging 26.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.9 assists.

Zach LaVine To The Los Angeles Lakers Is Still A Possibility

After the Los Angeles Lakers acquired Rui Hachimura from the Washington Wizards, GM Rob Pelinka hinted that more moves were in the offing, sparking the buzz around LaVine and the Lakers again.

Both the player and the team have been linked for a couple of months now, and per an NBA insider, the Bulls star heading to LA is pretty much a possibility. In a recent edition of the Lowe Post Podcast, the veteran analyst talked about the chance of the Lakers landing LaVine

“One unprotected and the second one has the most limited possible protections that are allowable under NBA rules,” Lowe said of the theoretical trade.

Lowe said that the Bulls would probably accept the deal that would send Russell Westbrook and their two future picks to the Windy City and in the process acquire a seasoned veteran in Westbrook.

The Lakers would greatly benefit from LaVine’s shooting ability Ì¦ considering that their entire offense rests heavily on LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Only time will tell if a blockbuster trade around the Lakers is around the corner.
