The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked with a series of rumors over the past couple of months. Even though their players have been thriving this season, trade rumors keep coming, and the Lakers could make a move soon to try to improve their level.

They already shocked the NBA with a move for Japanese forward Rui Hachimura, and it doesn’t seem like this exchange with the Washington Wizards will be the only one they’ll make before the trade deadline strikes.

The Purple and Gold keep being linked with a move for some stars around the league, and Zach LaVine appears to be a person of interest for them. The Chicago Bulls player has been a man in demand recently, and the Lakers appear to be following him.

Los Angeles Lakers Could Land Zach LaVine For The Right Offer

While some think the Chicago Bulls would be reluctant to part ways with their star, NBA insider Zach Lowe reveals that the six-time NBA champion could be willing to move LaVine if the right offer comes along, and the Lakers could have it. During a recent edition of the Lowe Post Podcast, the veteran analyst talked about the chance of the Lakers landing LaVine (14:21 mark).

“One unprotected and the second one has the most limited possible protections that’s allowable under NBA rules,” he said of the theoretical trade.

Lowe explains that the Lakers could go for it since they’d get a playmaker to play alongside LeBron James. He also talked about Russell Westbrook coming off the bench and showing that he can still contribute to any team that wants to compete for something big. Then, Zach also explained why the Bulls should take this trade.

For Lowe, the Bulls could use and trade Zach LaVine’s contract since he’s an All-Star, somebody that is playing at a great level and keeps showing his explosiveness. This could be a good opportunity for them, but the insider also explained why the six-time NBA champions wouldn’t do it.

The thing is that Chicago is going through a complex situation right now, as they’re not looking like a top candidate in the Eastern Conference, but they keep trying and competing against big teams. They have three stars on the roster, yet things haven’t worked in their favor so far.

They need to make a decision if they want to turn things around soon. LaVine was linked with them before, but in a huge trade for LeBron James, something that won’t happen in a million years. The Lakers could use another star, and the former Slam Dunk contest winner can be a great option for them.
