The Cleveland Cavaliers narrowly missed out on the playoffs this year, despite the fact that they had two All-Stars in Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen. However, it seems as though they could be making some moves to ensure that they make the postseason next year.

A recent report by Evan Dammarell of Right Down Euclid revealed a few “viable” trade options for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Dammarell listed Gary Trent Jr., Harrison Barnes, and Malik Beasley as potential targets, though added that there are “financial complications” in acquiring those players, so the Cleveland Cavaliers could simply end up drafting a player to contribute to their team:

League sources say that players like Toronto’s Gary Trent Jr., Sacramento’s Harrison Barnes or Minnesota’s Malik Beasley are also viable options for Cleveland via trade as well. But, again, due to the financial complications involving those aforementioned players, drafting someone could also be a path too.

There is no doubt that all three of those players can be considered solid supplementary scorers. Gary Trent Jr. in particular has had a productive year with the Toronto Raptors, averaging 18.3 PPG, 2.7 RPG, and 2.0 APG on the season, while shooting 38.3% from beyond the arc. Harrison Barnes is a capable offensive wing as well, while Malik Beasley is a guard that can get really hot coming off the bench.

It remains to be seen how well the Cleveland Cavaliers do next season. Commissioner Adam Silver previously suggested that they are becoming a superteam, and they definitely do have a solid young core. Aside from Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland, they also have other solid young players, such as Isaac Okoro and Evan Mobley.

Any of the aforementioned trade targets would make good additions to the Cleveland Cavaliers. We’ll see if the Cavaliers do, in fact, enact a trade for any of them, or perhaps they will simply end up drafting someone to add to their rotation.
