NBA Rumors: Denver Nuggets Are Interested In Kevin Love

2 Min Read

While Kyrie Irving and LeBron James are no longer a part of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ championship roster, Kevin Love has remained as the veteran and voice of the locker room. He has shared that duty with Tristan Thompson in recent years, but the big man also left the organization, leaving the 3-point specialist alone.

The Cavaliers are trying to build something good for the future and Love doesn’t necessarily fit those plans. That’s why he’s been linked with a trade or buyout, but the second option is becoming unlikely for the team.

Love is still a good player and can bring good things to several teams in the association. Nevertheless, not many squads are interested in his services. A Western Conference contender could make a surprising move for the veteran, though, but it’s too early to say.

According to recent rumors, the Denver Nuggets are interested in bringing Love.

“It’s true that [Ricky] Rubio was just 2-of-10 shooting, but he ran the offense and made the Cavs look like a winning team when he was out there,” wrote Sam Amico of Hoops Wire. “So did Love. I even joked that perhaps Love was auditioning for a job with the Nuggets, one of the few teams that recently has displayed trade interest.”

It’s not like Love will be the sidekick Nikola Jokic needs to aspire to the NBA championship, but he can be a great addition to this team. Besides, the Nuggets know how to get the most out of veterans.

Last season, they added Aaron Gordon and Austin Rivers, two pieces that helped the team down the stretch and during the playoffs. The Cavaliers have different plans for their young core as they have several good players to compete in the future, but Love apparently won’t be part of that.

In five games with the Cavs, he’s averaging 10.8 PPG, 7,2 RPG, and 2.4 APG, shooting 20.0% from beyond the arc.
