The Golden State Warriors have just won the 2022 NBA championship, and it is clear that they are one of the best teams in the league. However, even the best teams in the league can always get even better, perhaps by trading for a top-tier star and adding even more talent to the roster.

  • 2. Anthony Davis
  • 1. Joel Embiid

In this article, we will present multiple trades that will allow the Golden State Warriors to add another star to their roster, which would then give them a superteam to dominate the league.

3. Rudy Gobert

Golden State Warriors Receive: Rudy Gobert

Utah Jazz Receive: Draymond Green, James Wiseman

Rudy Gobert is a 3-time DPOY winner, and there’s no question that he’d be a good fit for the Golden State Warriors. Rudy Gobert would give them an elite rim protector and rebounder, while also being an athletic lob threat that can finish well near the basket. He has been the anchor of the Utah Jazz defense for many years, and perhaps he could be that presence near the rim for the Golden State Warriors.

The trade package for Rudy Gobert would consist of Draymond Green and James Wiseman. Draymond Green is a player that had an inconsistent playoff run, struggling at times during the Warriors’ series against the Grizzlies and the Celtics. His contract would be the salary base for this trade, but aside from that, he would give the Utah Jazz another elite defender to take Rudy Gobert’s place. James Wiseman was the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA draft, and he still has a lot of upside. If he develops correctly, he could become a franchise cornerstone, and he has already shown flashes of shooting ability and ballhandling skill.

Overall, this trade would get the Utah Jazz another elite defensive player, while also getting them an elite prospect that they could develop. In theory, that should be enough to get Rudy Gobert.

2. Anthony Davis

Golden State Warriors Receive: Anthony Davis

Los Angeles Lakers Receive: Draymond Green, Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga

Anthony Davis is generally considered a superstar and a top-10 player when healthy, but it was previously reported that his trade value has dropped considerably. Perhaps that means the Golden State Warriors could make a trade to acquire him.

The Golden State Warriors’ system seems suited for a player like Anthony Davis. He can guard all 5 positions passably as a big man, while also being an offensive powerhouse that can do a little bit of everything on that end of the floor. Davis has the ability to score well in the post and also provides a lob threat. He shot 77.0% from the restricted area, and there’s no doubt that the pressure he puts on the rim would benefit the Golden State Warriors.

While Anthony Davis’ trade value may have gotten lower, the Golden State Warriors would still have to give up a decent amount to get him. Obviously, Draymond Green is included in this deal for financial reasons, but he also has a good relationship with LeBron James, and the two could potentially play well together. The Lakers would also get Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga in this deal. Jordan Poole has already shown what he can do on the biggest stage in the playoffs, but it is possible that the Golden State Warriors could potentially try to avoid paying him a big-money contract, so he is included in this deal. Jonathan Kuminga is a player that has elite athleticism, and he has already shown flashes of being a good perimeter defender.

Overall, this trade would give the Golden State Warriors a top-tier big man, and allow them to dominate for at least the next two years. Adding a player like Anthony Davis to an established championship core would heighten their chances of winning another championship.

1. Joel Embiid

Golden State Warriors Receive: Joel Embiid

Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Draymond Green, Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, 2026 First-Round Pick, 2028 First-Round Pick

Joel Embiid signed a contract extension with the Philadelphia 76ers last year. But perhaps the Warriors could potentially acquire him if the Philadelphia 76ers decide to go in a different direction and move the superstar, as they have been unable to break through to the Eastern Conference Finals once again this year.

This trade would feature a huge package featuring Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, and two first-round picks going to the Philadelphia 76ers. That is a good package for the Philadelphia 76ers from a value standpoint, as Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga are top-tier prospects, while Draymond Green is one of the best defenders in the league. There would be also two first-round picks in this deal as a superstar of Joel Embiid’s caliber would require a good amount of draft compensation from the team receiving him.

Joel Embiid would be everything the Golden State Warriors need in a center: an elite rim protector, someone who provides great rebounding, and a dominant presence inside that can take some of the attention off of Stephen Curry. Joel Embiid would give the Golden State Warriors’ offense a new dynamic, and adding a superstar like him would make the Warriors absolutely elite on both ends of the floor. The Warriors would have the most talent in the league, and with Joel Embiid, they would have a very good chance of winning back to back.
