NBA Rumors: Golden State Warriors Asked About James Harden Trade

Even without Klay Thompson, the Golden State Warriors will be ready to compete with the best next season. So long as they have Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins, they’ll be able to make some noise.

Still, there is a sense that the Klay injury may have seriously compromised their ability to win, and the team has been working to try and make sure they stay afloat. They brought in Kelly Oubre Jr. in a trade with OKC, and then signed sharpshooting wing, Kent Bazemore.

But, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Dubs had bigger plans. Apparently, before Thompson went down with his Achilles tear, the team was inquiring about a Harden trade that would have seen the three backcourt stars team up in Golden State.

Harden’s trade request from the Rockets has been no secret to the NBA community. For days, rumors about potential destinations have emerged, with the Nets surfacing as one location the Beard had his eyes set on.

Things have quieted down on all fronts, however, and neither Brooklyn nor any other team has come close to trading for the 3x Scoring Champ.

As for the Warriors, their most recent bite from the injury bug has changed things. And while they will remain competitive this season, their aspirations are probably not as high as they once were.
