Breaking: Rockets Trade Robert Covington To Portland For Trevor Ariza And First-Round Pick

1 Min Read

just one season after their injury-plagued 2020 run, the Portland Trail Blazers have just made a move to deepen their roster.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the team has just reached a deal to acquire Robert Covington from the Houston Rockets.

Covington, 27, is the 3-and-D player Portland has been searching for. Last season, he averaged 12.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

For Houston, they acquire Trevor Ariza and a haul of draft picks.

Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, and Jusuf Nurkic make up a pretty talented core for Portland, and Covington will make them better.

But as the trade season continues in full swing, one has to imagine that the Blazers (nor the Rockets, for that matter) are done making deals. In what is a critical and fast-moving offseason, teams can’t afford to be complacent.

Kudos to these teams for shaking things up.
