Clippers And Bucks Could Target Collin Sexton

The Clippers and Bucks are in the mix for guard Collin Sexton.

Guard Collin Sexton is one of the best young guards in the league, well-known for his scoring ability. While he is clearly not the sort of star that can lead a top-tier team with his scoring, his skill set suggests he could be a great complementary piece next to other elite players.

Despite his talent, it seems as though Collin Sexton will be made available in trade talks by the Utah Jazz. Sam Amico of Hoops Wire suggested that the Los Angeles Clippers and the Milwaukee Bucks could be in the mix for Sexton.

“The Wizards, Clippers, Hornets, and Bucks are among the teams that could have an interest in Sexton.”

It makes sense for the Clippers and Bucks to try and get a young player who has not yet reached his ceiling. Both teams are comprised of older veterans, and Sexton could provide a solid player who can contribute both immediately and in the future.

This season, Collin Sexton has averaged 14.3 PPG, 2.2 RPG, and 2.9 APG during his time with the Utah Jazz. He also shot 50.6% from the field and 39.3% from beyond the arc. He is a good addition to any team that requires extra offense, and it’ll be interesting to see where he ends up.

The Clippers Have Also Targeted Chris Paul

Based on their interest in Collin Sexton and other previous reports, the Los Angeles Clippers are clearly looking to acquire a guard. In fact, it was previously reported that they would be targeting Chris Paul in a trade after his move to the Wizards.

“The Washington Wizards are likely to reroute Chris Paul in a trade and the Los Angeles Clippers are expected to pursue a reunion with the future Hall of Famer, league sources tell NBA on TNT and Bleacher Report.”

There is no doubt that adding Chris Paul would be a good move for the Los Angeles Clippers. Though Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are good playmakers, it is clear that they cannot run an offense full-time. That is why Paul would be a nice fit, as he is a traditional floor general. This season, Chris Paul averaged 13.9 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 8.9 APG for the Phoenix Suns, while shooting 37.5% from the 3PT range.
