Blockbuster Trade Ideas: How The Lakers Can Land Derrick Rose And Zach LaVine This Offseason

The Los Angeles Lakers are primed for a deep playoff run this year. Led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the squad is stacked with top tier talent and even some key signings including Dion Waiters and J.R. Smith. Even without Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley, the Lakers are a big problem for the rest of the league.

  • Zach LaVine

In the offseason, the Lakers might grab two excellent guards to help catapult them to the top of the league once again. Two star guards might be available to join the Lakers, and here are the trades that can land former MVP Derrick Rose and current star of the Bulls Zach LaVine.

Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose is averaging 18.1 PPG and 5.6 APG while shooting 49.0% FG. Rose has had quite a re-birth the season with the Detroit Pistons, and he’s playing close to his old self. While he might not be MVP Derrick Rose, he is still a valuable guard who can start on most NBA teams. In fact, he might have had quite a few All-Star votes.

If the Lakers acquire Derrick Rose next year, he would give the team a second All-Star playmaker and ball-handler alongside LeBron James. Rose is quick with his decision making and knows how to score the ball at a very high clip. Derrick Rose would make the Lakers the kings of the league for sure next year.

Trade Package: Alex Caruso, Quinn Cook, First Round Pick, Avery Bradley (player option)

Zach LaVine

Zach LaVine

LaVine is averaging 25.5 PPG and 4.2 APG in his best season for the Chicago Bulls. LaVine is a budding All-Star and the best player on the Chicago Bulls right now. For sure, he might be thinking that it is time to move on since the team holds a 22-43 record in the East. Staying in Chicago is hurting LaVine’s prime since he isn’t winning anything.

With LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the Los Angeles Lakers; LaVine gives them a third All-Star who is averaging over 20 PPG. We all know LaVine is one of the best dunkers you’ve seen in a long time, but he is a great scorer who’s shooting 45.0% from the field.

Even though LaVine is not a natural point guard, he can handle the ball and also score the ball at a high level. LaVine’s production and ball dominance would give an aging LeBron James more rest to be at his best next year.

Trade Package: Danny Green, Kyle Kuzma, KCP (player option)
