Stephen Curry is the greatest player in the history of the Golden State Warriors franchise but he did have some eyebrow-raising comments about his future. He loves being a Warrior but being a bottom-dweller isn’t going to cut it because he wants a chance to win his fifth NBA championship at all costs. With many teams right now needing a superstar point guard who happens to be the best shooter of all time, here are the three dream destinations for Stephen Curry to win another title.

Contents
  • Los Angeles Lakers
  • Denver Nuggets
  • Miami Heat

Los Angeles Lakers

Stephen Curry - Los Angeles Lakers

The first dream destination is obviously the Los Angeles Lakers where Stephen Curry can form a dynamic Big Three with superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Trade Details

Los Angeles Lakers Receive: Stephen Curry

Golden State Warriors Receive: D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, Austin Reaves, Gabe Vincent, 2029 First-Round Pick, 2031 First-Round Pick

Stephen Curry joining the Los Angeles Lakers would instantly transform the team into a championship favorite. Curry’s unparalleled shooting and playmaking abilities would perfectly complement LeBron James (25.7 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 8.3 APG) and Anthony Davis (24.7 PPG, 12.6 RPG), forming a potent offensive trio. His presence on the floor would create immense spacing (26.4 PPG on 40.8% 3-PT FG), allowing LeBron to penetrate and Davis to dominate the paint.

Additionally, Curry’s off-ball movement and ability to shoot from anywhere would make the Lakers’ offense nearly impossible to defend. The Lakers offer Curry the chance to compete for another championship with two of the league’s top talents. The prospect of teaming up with LeBron, who has a proven track record of winning and attracting elite players, is compelling.

Moreover, Los Angeles provides a big market with significant media attention and endorsement opportunities. The Lakers’ history and recent success would give Curry a strong platform to pursue his fifth NBA title, potentially solidifying his legacy even further.

This potential move would generate numerous intriguing storylines. Watching Curry and LeBron play together, two of the greatest players of their generation would be a historic and captivating narrative. The trade would also signify a major shift in the NBA’s power dynamics, possibly leading to intense rivalries with teams such as the Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets, and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Denver Nuggets

Stephen Curry

The next dream destination is in Denver with the Nuggets to form one of the best little-big duos in NBA history with Nikola Jokic.

Trade Details

Denver Nuggets Receive: Stephen Curry

Golden State Warriors Receive: Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr.

Stephen Curry teaming up with the Denver Nuggets would create one of the most formidable inside-outside duos in NBA history with Nikola Jokic. Curry’s shooting prowess and Jokic’s elite passing and scoring ability would make for a nearly unstoppable offensive force. The two-time MVPs would thrive off each other’s strengths, with Curry’s ability to stretch the floor perfectly complementing Jokic’s dominance in the paint (26.4 PPG, 12.4 RPG, 9.0 APG).

The combination of Curry’s perimeter threat and Jokic’s all-around game would open up countless scoring opportunities for the entire team. Curry’s decision to join Denver would be driven by the chance to play alongside Jokic, who is widely regarded as one of the best big men in the league. The Nuggets’ recent success and their playoff run in 2023-24 proves they are on the cusp of a second championship, and Curry’s addition could be the final piece needed to secure the title.

Denver’s team-oriented culture and Jokic’s unselfish style of play would also appeal to Curry, as it aligns with his own approach to the game. The potential for Curry to win a championship in Denver would create several fascinating storylines. The narrative of Curry and Jokic forming an elite duo would be compelling, as they combine their unique skill sets to dominate opponents.

Miami Heat

Stephen Curry - Miami Heat

A third dream destination is in South Beach to play for the Miami Heat and create a new Big Three with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

Trade Details

Miami Heat Receive: Stephen Curry

Golden State Warriors Receive: Tyler Herro, Jaime Jacquez Jr, Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic, 2029 First-Round Pick

A move to the Miami Heat would see Stephen Curry join forces with Jimmy Butler (20.8 PPG, 5.3 RPG) and Bam Adebayo (19.3 PPG, 10.4 RPG) forming a new Big Three in South Beach. Curry’s shooting and playmaking abilities would blend seamlessly with Butler’s toughness and Adebayo’s versatility, creating a well-rounded and potent lineup.

The Heat’s defensive prowess combined with Curry’s offensive firepower would make them a formidable opponent for any team. Additionally, Curry’s championship experience and leadership would be invaluable to Miami’s quest for another title. Curry might be drawn to Miami by the opportunity to work with a proven leader like Butler and a rising star like Adebayo.

The Heat’s strong organizational culture and reputation for player development would be appealing, offering Curry a chance to compete at the highest level while contributing to the growth of a talented roster. Miami’s vibrant city and tax advantages could also be enticing factors for Curry as he seeks a fresh challenge in his career. This move would be rich with storylines, from Curry’s adaptation to Erik Spoelstra’s coaching style to the chemistry between Curry, Butler, and Adebayo.

The Heat’s journey from a hard-nosed defensive team to a balanced powerhouse with Curry’s addition would captivate fans and analysts alike. Moreover, Curry’s presence in the Eastern Conference would add a new dimension to rivalries with teams like the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks, potentially shifting the balance of power in the league.
