There is no question that Ben Simmons' value on the trade market has lowered as a result of his playoff performances in round 2 against the Atlanta Hawks. However, if the 76ers wanted to trade him, there would be plenty of teams that would be interested.
According to an NBA Insider, one of those teams may be the Minnesota Timberwolves. Darren Wolfson of SKOR North reported the news about the Timberwolves having an interest in Ben Simmons, and suggested that they "badly" want to trade for him.
I texted with somebody that knows Ben Simmons incredibly well, that has working knowledge of all things NBA... My text was "How badly do the Wolves want to trade for Ben Simmons". This individual sent me a text back it was one word: "badly". Make no mistake, the Wolves have trade interest in Ben Simmons.
Karl Anthony-Towns and Ben Simmons are good friends, so there would likely be no chemistry issues. On the basketball end, when you consider the fit of Ben Simmons with the Timberwolves core, this seems like a solid move for the Timberwolves. While obviously, no trade has happened yet, it seems like the Timberwolves will be in the mix in trade negotiations if the 76ers decide to move on from Ben Simmons.
