It’s not just the big three of the Chicago Bulls who are in demand ahead of the trade deadline. Alex Caruso has been on the radar of most teams amid speculations of a rebuild.

The Bulls may have won their second game on the trot, courtesy of Ayo Dosunmu’s buzzer-beater against the Atlanta Hawks, but it doesn’t change the fact that they are struggling and are placed 11th in the East with a 13-18 record.

While the likes of DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic have been sought after by multiple teams, Caruso, despite his average run this season, has been looked at as a potential role player by at least three teams.

Multiple teams are prepared to make offers for Alex Caruso, per @SeanDeveney

“Teams like Phoenix or Miami, both would be in a position to make a trade like that. Even the Warriors, they could send out a young guy”

Per Heavy’s Sean Deveney, the Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, and the Miami Heat have been some of the teams keen to rope in Caruso.

Will Alex Caruso Join The Warriors?

Deveney’s report has comments from NBA Insiders who believe Alex Caruso is one of the players to watch out for. At the time of writing, he averages 5.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists.

One of the executives noted that Caruso would be a prize addition to a winning franchise, and teams that are expected to make the playoffs, but are faltering would receive a massive boost with the guard in their ranks.

“The guy to watch is (Alex) Caruso,” one Eastern Conference GM told Heavy Sports. “They have had talks about Coby White but he is going into free agency, and if you trade for him, you’ve got to pay him. No one is ready to take that leap with him. But Caruso has a contract that teams like (two years, $19 million after this season) and he is a good piece on a winning team. If we get into mid-January and they have not turned it around, look for a team that sees itself as a contender to make a run for him because he is really only an asset playing a role on a good team.

“If they can get some draft capital back for Caruso, and maybe a player, that would suit them. Teams like Phoenix or Miami, both would be in a position to make a trade like that. Even the Warriors, they could send out a young guy, a guy like (James) Wiseman to get into win-now mode. Philadelphia, same thing, they could offer some of their young guys—Matisse Thybulle, Shake (Milton) and add another guy to make the salaries work. The Lakers certainly would like to have him back if they had the young guys to do it.Ear

Earlier, reports of Caruso and Steve Kerr talking post the Warriors vs. Bulls did the rounds, with the latter reportedly telling the player that he would love to see him at Golden State.

With the Warriors mentioned as one of the teams and taking Kerr’s chat with Caruso into consideration, it’s perhaps safe to speculate that they might be frontrunners to land him.
