NBA Rumors: The New York Have Have Made The Entire Roster Available In Trade Talks

Amid a frustrating campaign for the Knickerbockers, the front office may be ready for a complete reset.

According to Marc Berman of The New York Post, the Knicks have made every single one of their players available ahead of the deadline and could be headed for some major roster changes over the next few hours.

Knicks brass is frantically looking to make at least one move to shake up a roster that has nose-dived into 12th place and a 24-31 record approaching the trade deadline Thursday.

The Knicks have made the entire roster available, with point guard Kemba Walker the likeliest candidate to be traded. But Fournier and his $78 million contract could also be on the move.

Dealing Walker and Fournier on Thursday would be an indictment of Knicks president Leon Rose’s blown free-agent summer.

The 2020-21 campaign was a great run for New York. They finished 4th in the East and made the postseason for the first time in years.

Fast forward less than 12 months later, and the Knicks are a shell of that squad, and Julius Randle, who was so crucial to their run a year ago, is now on the trade block.

Just like all other teams, New York’s management will take and make plenty of calls over the next two weeks to gauge the market. It’s worth noting that one team in touch with a member of the organization recently is under the impression that Julius Randle would be available for the right return. The Knicks and Randle agreed to a four-year extension prior to the season. But the idea that his name would come up in trade discussions shouldn’t be a surprise.

The Knicks suffered their 4th straight loss on Tuesday, putting them at 24-31 on the season. They are currently outside the play-in picture.

With less than 24 hours to go until the trade deadline, time is running out to make adjustments and salvage the season. After showing so much promise, it would be a bad look to finish at the bottom of the standings once again.
