The Ben Simmons saga could see a big twist if recent rumors are to be believed. He’s one of the 20 players most likely to get traded soon, and some teams could have a real interest in the Australian point guard.
The playmaker has been linked with moves to the Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Pistons recently, but now a dark horse could show up to take him out of Philadelphia and give him the fresh start he’s been looking for.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are reportedly interested in making a move for Simmons. In exchange, they would send one of their best players to Philly in a move that could help both teams.
According to ClutchPoints’ Dave Early, the Sixers have studied the possibility of swapping Ben Simmons for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Shai is considered one of the most promising young players in the league. Although he doesn’t get as much attention as other starlets, the point guard has All-Star potential are a lot of teams are paying attention to his development.
However, the Thunder have high hopes for Shai. He recently signed a huge contract with the team and there’s no real indication that they are trying to move the former Clippers player.
That said, SGA’s fit with Joel Embiid would make the Sixers an exciting team to watch, but time will tell if this gets some traction or simply vanishes. Simmons is yet to play with the team this season after all the issues he’s been dealing with in the past couple of months. It’s unclear if he’ll ever play again with them, but the front office is apparently trying to solve this problem.
