The Portland Trail Blazers have recently been eliminated in the first round despite the best efforts of superstar point guard Damian Lillard. Coach Terry Stotts has been fired, and it seems as though the Portland Trail Blazers are finally shaking things up.

It seems that the Portland Trail Blazers could potentially be active in the trade market to pair Damian Lillard with a superstar. Stephen A. Smith has stated that the Portland Trail Blazers may have a way to acquire Karl-Anthony Towns.

I just got a text from somebody ... and they mentioned to me Karl-Anthony Towns maybe in Portland.

You make a move involving Nurkic, McCollum or whoever, and bring in Karl-Anthony Towns.

Karl-Anthony Towns, the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise center could find his way to Portland, according to Stephen A. Smith. While Jusuf Nurkic and CJ McCollum are good players, pairing Damian Lillard with a Karl-Anthony Towns would be insane. Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the best offensive big men in the game, and he is a sharpshooter from the perimeter. If the Portland Trail Blazers are trying to maximize their winning potential, then Towns could be the right move.

It remains to be seen whether Towns will be traded. He was on record saying that he wants to be with one team throughout his career, and thus far, he has not played anywhere but Minnesota. Things could change quickly in the NBA though, and as we've seen before, nothing is impossible.
