The Toronto Raptors are a team that could seek to rebuild in the future, as they are currently the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference. Their veteran core is clearly not championship-level, and perhaps the best move is to trade a number of their players and rebuild around forward Scottie Barnes.

Even though there have been a lot of trade rumors surrounding the Toronto Raptors, it seems as though they are in no rush to make a trade. A recent report from Matt Moore of Action Network revealed that the team won’t make moves until right before the deadline, in the hopes of “a bidding war” happening for their players.

Don’t expect any moves until right before the deadline from Toronto. They’ve made all their non-Scottie-Barnes players available for discussion, at extreme prices, and will wait to see if a bidding war amps up.

A large number of Toronto Raptors players have already received trade interest, with two-way forward OG Anunoby being one of them. He was most recently linked to the New Orleans Pelicans, and it’ll be interesting to see if any team ends up paying the price to acquire him in the future.

Fred VanVleet Is A Target For The Los Angeles Clippers

Fred VanVleet is a solid point guard who is well-known for his 3PT shooting and ballhandling ability. He is likely a player the Raptors will try to move ahead of the trade deadline due to his contract situation, and he has recently been linked with the Los Angeles Clippers.

“League sources say the Clippers are also interested in Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet… VanVleet, who is at no. 76, is overall the best target for the Clippers considering he’s only 28, he’s a relentless on-ball defender, and he was an All-Star just last season.”

There is no doubt that Fred VanVleet will be able to help the Los Angeles Clippers. He will likely have a smaller role there than in Toronto, which means that his shooting will likely get back to normal. VanVleet seems like the perfect player to play off of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, and there have even been rumors that suggested Kawhi Leonard wants Fred VanVleet on the team.

It remains to be seen what the Los Angeles Clippers will end up doing ahead of the trade deadline. They have other trade targets besides Fred VanVleet, and we’ll see if they end up making a win-now move to further increase their chances of winning a championship.
