NBA Rumors: Wizards Are Interested In Dejounte Murray, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, And Malcolm Brogdon

The Washington Wizards had a good start to the season this year, but eventually fell back down to earth and ended up missing the playoffs. Part of that was due to Bradley Beal’s elbow injury, but it is fair to say that they are currently a team that does not have enough talent to make the playoffs.

It seems as though the Washington Wizards front office recognizes that fact and seemingly wants to add more talent. Wizards insider Quinton Mayo has recently revealed that the Washington Wizards have inquired about point guards Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Dejounte Murray, and Malcolm Brogdon, and added that Bradley Beal would “welcome the acquisition of either three”.

But, sticking to the theme of Sheppard’s comments from April, Washington has also cast a wide net in hopes of pairing a more established floor general beside Beal. League sources say they’ve checked in with Oklahoma City regarding Shai Gilgeous Alexander, San Antonio regarding Dejounte Murray, and Indiana regarding Malcolm Brogdon. Beal is believed to welcome the acquisition of either three, I’m told.

It remains to be seen if the Washington Wizards are able to acquire any of those aforementioned point guards. There’s no doubt that any of them would be good additions to the team. In particular, Dejounte Murray could be a good fit as a backcourt partner for Bradley Beal due to his defensive abilities and his playmaking, and he would make things easier for Beal on both ends of the floor.

Hopefully, we see the Washington Wizards get Bradley Beal some help. They were notably linked with All-Star big man Domantas Sabonis at the trade deadline but obviously did not end up landing him. Perhaps they will have better luck trading for the players that they have inquired about recently, but if not, there could potentially be other win-now moves out there.
