Houston Rockets forward Amen Thompson is considered one of the most talented and athletic players in the league. Although he is known for his defensive work, Thompson showcased his offensive bag in a crucial Game 7 outing against the Golden State Warriors. With the unique blend of athleticism and skill on display, fans couldn’t help but see how the forward’s mastery in the air bears a resemblance to NBA legend Michael Jordan.

Thompson has been one of the most vital players in the Rockets-Warriors series. Although his work on the offensive side of the ball isn’t regarded very highly, he certainly picked up the scoring slack for his team on Sunday night. One play in particular had the fans in awe of the 22-year-old’s athletic prowess.

The way the Rockets forward sliced through the defense and glided through the air to finish at the rim had fans drawing comparisons to Jordan.

“Michael Jordan,” said one fan, in awe of the athletic finish.

“That was Jordan like,” said another.

“Amen Thompson doing things Jordan never did,” added one fan, apparently rating the forward as a superior athlete.

“AMEN MICHAEL JORDAN THOMPSON,” added another fan, still ecstatic after watching the play.

“That drive by Amen Thompson at the end of the half was Jordan-Esque!” acknowledged yet another fan.

Although the 22-year-old was receiving all kinds of praise for this display, the Rockets were struggling to get going in Game 7. Thompson was one of the only players who kept the team in the running to win it.

The Rockets forward appears to be the next generation of supremely athletic players coming into their own in the NBA. With Thompson growing at an astounding rate this season, it will be interesting to see what he brings to the table in the future.

Unfortunately, the Warriors displayed tenacity that Houston wasn’t prepared for as they came away with a 103-89 win to close out the series.

Amen Thompson was the leading scorer in Game 7. In 37 minutes of playing time, he recorded 24 points, nine rebounds, three steals, an assist, and a block. His effort was supported by Rockets center Alperen Sengun, who had 21 points, 14 rebounds, and five assists on the night.

The team was let down by some of its key players. Fred VanVleet struggled to establish himself offensively as he only scored 17 points in the game. Meanwhile, Jalen Green has simply been among the worst players for the series as he dropped another single-digit performance.

With Houston’s season coming to an end, the team will go back to the drawing board and see what adjustments they can make for the future. Considering that they are driven by an extremely talented young core, the Rockets would be best served by surrounding the team with reliable veterans to guide them towards success.
