Lakers Fans React To Timeless LeBron James Triple-Double In Blowout Win Over Raptors

The Los Angeles Lakers were able to secure yet another important win at home, as they defeated the Toronto Raptors 123-103 to help extend their record to 6-4 in the Western Conference. LeBron James was absolutely phenomenal, putting up 19 points (6-14 FG), 16 assists, and 10 rebounds in a solid triple-double to help get an important win.

Lakers fans were thrilled with the team showing today, expressing their happiness on social media. Understandably, much of the plaudits went to LeBron James for his impressive performance. But there was also some concern about Anthony Davis, who despite his 22-point (6-8 FG) performance, left the game early with an eye injury.

“Lakers 5-0 at home!”

“Jakob Poeltl is going to be the most hated man in Los Angeles after tonight. Luckily, he doesn’t have social media and probably doesn’t give a sh*t.”

“Lakers were down 3 when AD left the game. And some people try to tell me LeBron James isn’t impactful anymore lol.”

“Lakers having Austin Reaves for just $12 M/yr feels illegal…”

“Send them eye-poking a** bums back up North!”

“Anthony Davis gets poked in the eyes more than the Three Stooges man, time to goggle up.”

“I’ve never seen an athlete leave the game with an eye injury more than Anthony Davis.”

“LeBron James. How lucky we are.”

“Michael Jordan fans keep watching the LeBron James show…It’s GOATastic.”

“Lebron James is still the GOAT.  No one even compares to him anymore. Back-to-back triple-doubles.”

It wasn’t just a great performance from LeBron James, as the rest of the Lakers also played well. Austin Reaves led the game in scoring with 27 points (10-17 FG) with six assists and one steal. D’Angelo Russell also turned his season around, as he came off the bench to deliver 15 points, with two rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

The rest of the Lakers were able to keep playing well even after Davis got poked in the eye by Jakob Poeltl in the third quarter, and never returned back to the game. Despite his solid contribution, there are clearly some worries about his injury status.

JJ Redick Unable To Give Update On Anthony Davis

JJ Redick spoke to the press after his team’s win. When asked about Anthony Davis’ health, he noted that he can’t yet give an update on Davis’ eye injury, aside from his struggling to see out of the eye that was poked, and it is something that they will continue to monitor in the days to come.

“I just know he got poked in it. He was having trouble seeing. Obviously, after taking trauma to the eye, it takes a little bit of time to get your clear vision back. Other than that, no update.

Davis has struggled with eye injuries in the past, having suffered a corneal abrasion in his left eye last season against the Warriors, then further aggravating the injury against the Timberwolves just a few weeks later.

The hope right now is that Anthony Davis can make a quick recovery and return to the Lakers’ lineup in time for the NBA Cup games beginning this week. The Lakers became the inaugural NBA Cup winners last year and will be hoping to defend their crown this season.

Anthony Davis has been the best player on the Lakers this season, averaging 31.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.3 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game. His absence could hurt the Lakers quite a bit, and that is something fans will be worried about.
