Luka Doncic is preparing for his best life with the Los Angeles Lakers. After signing a $165 million deal in August, the Slovenian superstar is all set to move into his own home in the City of Angels.

The former Mavericks guard purchased Tennis legend Maria Sharapova’s former house in Manhattan Beach for $25 million. It is a three-story custom-built house boasting five bedrooms, a pool, and a two-lane bowling alley.

The lavish house is a twenty-six-minute drive from the Lakers’ facility at the Crypto.com Arena. Doncic also bought a $2 million rare hypercar, the Rimac Nevera, which reportedly only has 150 units in the world.

Fans even addressed his weight loss after he was seen looking much leaner during a shoot for an Amazon Prime ad, for NBA on Prime. Becoming part of Hollywood, being traded overnight, and being questioned over fitness are all equally triggering events that could result in such a transformation.

Luka Doncic At EuroBasket

The Slovenian has wrapped up with the EuroBasket 2025, where he led his national team to a quarter-final position, eventually losing out to Germany. But his valiant effort shows what he has in store for the Lakers.

During the European tournament, the 26-year-old averaged 34.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game. He led the tournament in steals with 2.7 per game. Every game was better than the last from the forward-guard, who also averaged 33.3 minutes per game, and became his nation’s top leading scorer in International matches.

The Slovenian side lost the opening game to Poland, but Doncic still made history by becoming the first player to post 30+ points, five-plus assists, and five-plus steals in the same game in EuroBasket history.

In Slovenia’s first win of the tournament, Doncic kicked things off with a triple-double, posting 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. He fell short of another triple-double in the second group stage game against Iceland by just a single assist.

His best game was possibly against Italy, in the Round of 16, the first knockout game, where he went for 42 points and 10 assists.

With little to no help from his supporting cast, he had to settle for a quarter-final exit, well fought. In the final game, he had 39 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.

But this won’t be the case in LA. With the Lakers, he gets to play with one of the best players who’s ever picked up a basketball, LeBron James. And play the role Dwayne Wade once played when Shaquille O’Neal came to the Miami Heat looking for his fourth championship ring. And Wade was looking for his first.

It is an eerily similar situation where an aging superstar, albeit still at the very top of his game, will join an upsurging young star in a market that only appreciates winning.
