Ayesha Howard, Anthony Edwards’ baby mama, has broken her silence on the accusations leveled at her on social media in recent times. Howard’s having a child with Edwards and rapper Lil Baby has led to her being called a “gold digger,” and she made it clear she isn’t one.

“I’ve also come to the realization that there are just certain allegations that I will never ever beat with you guys,” Howard said. “I came into this situation with a status because I have a child by a very successful artist, right? From then, I am viewed as a certain type of woman because I am beautiful and have a nice body, and normally, women like that attract a certain caliber of men, which is also not my fault.

“And now that I am in yet another situation where I now have a child with another successful man, there is no telling you guys that I am not a gold digger,” Howard stated. “… Is no beating those allegations at all… The only thing that irritates me is, I read comments that say. ‘Oh, you’re a gold digger,’ or ‘You kept the baby for a check.’

“What if I came to y’all’s pages, right?” Howard continued. “And I compared the men that you have children with to the men that I have children with and I said, ‘You were digging for poverty when you picked him to be your baby daddy, weren’t you?’ [Or], ‘Oh, you kept that baby for an extra income tax credit, didn’t you?’ Or, “You kept that baby for a couple extra hundred dollars in food stamps, didn’t you?’

“Or, ‘You kept that baby for an extra Section 8 voucher.’ Is that why you kept your baby?” Howard added. “Now, if that was triggering, that’s how I feel every time somebody says, ‘Do you even love that baby? You kept that baby for a check.'”

That was fiesty. Howard recognizes that she might never beat those allegations in the minds of some, but is hoping others have some empathy for her.

Howard and Edwards reportedly met for the first time in 2022, and she gave birth to their daughter, Aubri Summers, in October 2024. Edwards had allegedly urged her to get an abortion prior to that and stated he wanted nothing to do with the child. Howard didn’t go that route, and the two appear to be embroiled in a legal battle at this point.

A rumor recently circulated that Edwards had requested to pay Howard over $1 million in child support at once, covering payments for 18 years. That led to the allegations intensifying, but she stated it was all a lie.

“Where do these lies be coming from,” she wrote. “You ever heard a rumour about yourself and actually wanted to hear more Like no way…… what did I do next?”

Howard also added that she has not been offered these terms. This is just a messy situation all around, and Edwards seems to be opening himself up to more of these with his actions.

Edwards reportedly had four kids with four different women in just two years. While the Minnesota Timberwolves star is free to do what he wants in his personal life, he needs to be more careful moving forward.
