Nets Don’t Like Any Trade Offer They’ve Received For Kevin Durant And Prefer To Keep Him On The Team, Says Brian Windhorst

The Kevin Durant saga might have taken a new turn in recent hours, as the Brooklyn Nets have reportedly changed their mind on the player’s trade request. So far, the Nets have reportedly offered the superstar to different teams, but they’ve been rejected due to their asking price.

The Minnesota Timberwolves and New Orleans Pelicans have the right players that could unlock negotiations with the Nets, but they’re not willing to let go of some of their players. The Phoenix Suns don’t have the right assets to convince Brooklyn, and the other teams haven’t made an actual move to land Durant.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, this situation has prompted the Nets to somehow give up on their attempts to trade Durant and are now trying to keep the player on the roster.

Brian Windhorst:

“The executives are going on vacation… At this point, the Nets’ preferred situation is for Kevin Durant to stay with them. There is no trade that they’ve got that they like.”

“The executives are going on vacation… At this point, the Nets’ preferred situation is for Kevin Durant to stay with them. There is no trade that they’ve got that they like.”

This might be a good thing for the Nets, especially if reports suggesting that Kyrie Irving doesn’t want to leave the team are true. However, it’ll take more to convince Durant to give his everything for the Nets after he expressed his desire to leave the franchise.

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors are still linked with KD, but so far nothing has happened between these teams and the Nets. Just when people thought that the entire NBA would fight for Durant’s services, things are different and there’s a chance that he starts the 2022/23 NBA season in Brooklyn.

The offseason is still young and perhaps a surprising team could make a shocking move for the 2014 NBA MVP. Ja Morant flirted with this idea recently, and the Grizzlies could be a good destination for Durant.
