The Kevin Durant saga is in full effect right now, as the Brooklyn Nets haven't received the right offers to deal the 2x NBA champion somewhere else. After a shocking trade request, everybody has been talking about the next team for KD, and right now, there's no clear answer to that question.
Teams like the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, and even the New Orleans Pelicans have been linked with a move for KD, but so far, nobody has made a move for him. This has opened the door for other teams to try to steal the 2x NBA champion away from the Nets, and some surprising teams could make a shocking deal this summer.
Nobody has ever thought about the Memphis Grizzlies trading for Durant since they were one of the best teams in the Western Conference last season and were the hardest rivals for the eventual champions Golden State Warriors, so it was a shock for many when Taylor Rooks asked Ja Morant about his team trading for the 2014 NBA MVP.
During a recent interview, the Bleacher Report figure touched on the KD saga, asking Morant if the Grizzlies thought about trading for the controversial superstar. Morant gave a 5-word response that didn't close the door (56:44).
"I guess we'll find out," Morant responded, giving a little mystery to it.
It would be crazy to see KD sharing touches with Ja, who is one of the most explosive players in the league right now. The Grizzlies secured the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference last season after putting together a very talented team. They definitely have the assets to unlock negotiations with the Nets, but it's unclear if they're even thinking of making a move for Kevin Durant.
This might be another team to pay attention to this summer since they can shock the world and pair their superstar with one of the best players in the league.
