The Knickerbockers saw their lowest attendance in over a decade on Wednesday and, in wake of the Spike Lee incident, things will likely get worse before they get better.
For decades, the team has struggled to put together a contending team, mostly due to their own mismanagement. So with things at an all-time low, many are wondering what’s next for the infamous franchise.
This summer, according to Frank Isola, their plans could include bringing in veteran guard Chris Paul from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Knicks, according to NBA sources, have been gathering intel on All Star Chris Paul and could make a run at him this summer. Paul, 34, carries a huge contract but he’s had a resurgent season in OKC & is proven leader. (He was also once represented by…Leon Rose.)

Of course, we also know the Nicks are considering the return of 10x All-Star, Carmelo Anthony.
Incoming Knicks president Leon Rose is expected to be interested in bringing Carmelo Anthony back to the Knicks next season, according to multiple NBA executives.
Rose has served as Anthony’s agent at Creative Artists Agency since 2009. Rose was hired by Anthony partly to engineer his departure from Denver to the Knicks in a blockbuster deal at the 2011 trade deadline. Their union will end in the coming days as Rose officially takes control of the Knicks. Will there be an encore?
As legends on the court and good friends off it, there is reason to get excited about a potential Melo/Paul pairing. This season, in particular, has seen a resurgence for both players.
Unfortunately, it probably won’t mean much in the grand scheme of things. Both players are over the age of 34 and Father Time is quickly closing in. the fact is, these guys are not what they used to be and adding them to an unproven roster of young guys and role-players won’t be enough to get them into the playoffs.
Nonetheless, it will sell tickets and if you ask any Knicks fan out there, that’s all their team really cares about anyway.
