Brazilian football superstar Neymar couldn’t contain his nervous excitement when he met Stephen Curry in 2016.

At 30, Neymar has scaled the heights in his sport and is considered to be one of the more scintillating personalities in football, but when he met Curry, he said he was “starstruck” and “shaking.”

Neymar Was Seen Rocking The Lakers’ Jersey As Well In His Netflix Documentary

It isn’t just Stephen Curry that Neymar was a fan of. His 2022 Netflix documentary, ‘Neymar: The Perfect Chaos,’ saw him sporting the Los Angeles Lakers jersey as she paid a fitting tribute to the late Kobe Bryant.

The three-episode docuseries that charts the highs and lows of the PSG star see him speak about his thoughts after Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash in 2020.

Dressed in Kobe’s 24 jersey and shorts, he relived the moment when news of the crash and the death broke.

“Bro, it was so random you know? I said, “what the f*** was that?” He added: “It was the halftime. We had the second half. What can a coach say at halftime then? It was overwhelming. We kept thinking and wondering…”

The docu also shows archival footage of him and Bryant interacting during a Nike shoot commercial where he presented his jersey to the Lakers star. He even dedicated one of his goals to the Lakers legend.

“He had been in Paris and we had done a Nike shoot together,” he said. “To me, it was one of the best moments I had with an idol of mine. An icon, a legend, you know? It was a very special moment. He’s not a random dude out there, he left a legacy. He projected the image he wanted. It was pretty heavy, we were all down that day.”

Coming back to his relationship with Curry, there’s no doubt that Neymar will be rooting for the defending champions to go the distance again. Although, they have been on a rocky road this season.
