Kevin Durant is one of the greatest scorers in the history of the NBA. The 2-time NBA champion is a gifted scorer, being able to score from anywhere on the court. Durant has incredible size and skill. Whether it be shooting from 30 feet or driving the ball to the basket, Durant can do it all when it comes to scoring. But one NBA analyst took a shot at Durant’s scoring prowess, comparing him to LeBron James.

NBA analyst Nick Wright took to Twitter to deliver quite a backhanded compliment to Kevin Durant, mocking KD for only having 3 40-point games this season, only 1 more than LeBron James’ 50-point games this season. This is perhaps because Wright, who is a big fan of LeBron James, is frustrated that LeBron isn’t mentioned in the conversation of the greatest scorers ever.

Shoutout to KD, the greatest scorer of his generation and I’m told possibly any generation, who now has 1 more 40 point games this season than LeBron has 50 point games this season. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Shoutout to KD, the greatest scorer of his generation and I’m told possibly any generation, who now has 1 more 40 point games this season than LeBron has 50 point games this season.

Wright has been vocal in the past about his admiration for LeBron James, even going as far as to say that LeBron James is the greatest of all time. But oftentimes, Wright makes the argument of LeBron’s greatness by pointing out the flaws in other players, whether it be LeBron’s contemporaries or his rivals like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant in the GOAT debate.

This was a shot at Durant, who has been a solid scorer this season. Injuries derailed his momentum and the momentum of the Brooklyn Nets. But now that both he and Kyrie are back and eligible to play all of the remaining games in the season, the Nets will be hoping to make a push for the play-in tournament, and go on to win the NBA championship from there.
