The Denver Nuggets will face the Phoenix Suns in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs, and there is no doubt that it will be an extremely exciting matchup that features a lot of star power.

The Phoenix Suns have an unstoppable pick-and-roll, and there’s no doubt that it is going to be tough to defend. In fact, Nikola Jokic recently joked that the only way to stop it is to “pray.”

There is no doubt that the Phoenix Suns are a difficult team to guard simply due to the team’s multitude of weapons on the roster. They have multiple players that can explode for big offensive nights, and the duo of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker is arguably the best in the league. The Denver Nuggets will need to be locked in on every defensive possession, as the Phoenix Suns will punish every mistake.

Nikola Jokic Believes The Phoenix Suns Are The Favorite To Win The 2023 Championship

It is clear that the Phoenix Suns have a lot of talent, and many people believe that they can win the championship this season. In fact, even Nikola Jokic admitted that they are “probably” the favorites to win it all.

“Probably, they are the favorites to win the championship. They have an amazing group of guys. Well-coached. There is Chris Paul, who is probably the best floor general in the game. Booker and KD are superstars, arguably the best players in the NBA right now,” Jokic said. “It’s a very big challenge for us.”

“Of course, the rest helps. OK, we won the first round, and now it’s another step. We need the same focus or even better for the next round.”

With that being said, the Denver Nuggets definitely have a chance to win this year based on the presence of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray on the roster. They have a well-built squad that can compete with the Suns, and their depth is definitely better than their opponents. Mike Malone previously said that the team is confident in themselves and knows who they are. Hopefully, we get an elite second-round series, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future.
