Nikola Jokic is the MVP candidate that a large number of people believe is ahead in the chase for the award itself. Nikola Jokic has led the Nuggets to the fourth seed in the Western Conference, despite Jamal Murray’s devastating injury. He has averaged 26.4 PPG, 10.9 RPG, and 8.4 APG. There are a lot of reasons as to why Nikola Jokic deserves the award.

Despite Jokic’s amazing MVP case, basketball analyst Nick Wright has claimed that he would be the worst MVP in the last 35 years. That garnered some skepticism from some in the NBA community. All-Star Nikola Vucevic has reacted to Wright’s take on Nikola Jokic by claiming that “anyone” can talk on TV these days.

They really let anyone talk on tv nowadays 🤦🏻‍♂️ https://t.co/tFmSIX0b7x

Nikola Vucevic came to his fellow All-Star’s defense, and it looks like he was critical of Wright’s take on the MVP race. Nikola Jokic is doing something unique this season, and he’s doing it without the help of another superstar. Nikola Jokic has no holes in his offensive game, and his passing skills as a center are nothing short of extraordinary. While there are clearly other people who deserve the award, he is certainly a top-tier candidate.

Everyone has a different take on the MVP race, but it seems as though calling Nikola Jokic the worst MVP within the last 35 years is a stretch, considering he is probably the best passing big man of all time. While he isn’t as accomplished as some other players, based on this season alone he deserves that award.
