Ever wondered what a day in the life of an NBA player looks like? Well, Paul George has you covered. On an episode of Podcast P, George was asked to give a glimpse at what a day in the life of an NBA player is like at home and when on the road. Here’s the rundown of what he shared.

– Wakes up by at least 7:30 am

– Spends time with his children before they go to school

– Arrives at the team facility between 8:30-9:00 am for shootaround, which is at 10:00 am

– Has breakfast at the facility before shootaround and gets some treatment as well

– Gets to the court by 9:45 am for some pre-shooting to get ready for shootaround, which then lasts for 30-45 minutes

– Gets back home by noon and plays video games with his friends for a couple of hours. If the session ends early, he takes a nap for around 45 minutes

– Then takes a hot bath for 20-25 minutes and showers before leaving for the arena at around 4:00 pm

– Gets to Crypto.com Arena by around 5:00 pm (games are usually at 7:00 or 7:30 pm)

The big difference when George is on the road is that the shootaround tends to be an hour later, so the players get to sleep a bit more. Everything else is then done in the same order, with the only exception being he doesn’t get to spend time with his family.

It’s always interesting to learn these kinds of things about NBA players. You understand from what George stated, that the daily routine isn’t anything extraordinary for him.

I’m assuming the big change if the same question was asked to some other player might be in those hours that the 33-year-old spends playing video games. Someone like Indiana Pacers big man Myles Turner for example spends a fair bit of that time on his Lego collection.

Paul George And The Clippers Are On A Tear

George and the Los Angeles Clippers had a dismal start to the 2023-24 season as they struggled after trading for James Harden. They have made amends for that in some style, though, with the Clippers’ 103-95 win over the Miami Heat on Sunday seeing them improve to 33-15 on the season.

They have now won 25 of their last 30 games, and those early season struggles seem like a distant memory now. In fact, you could argue the Clippers have been the best team in the league now for the last couple of months, as they have just operated at a very high level.

As for George, he is averaging 22.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game in 2023-24. His good play did not go unnoticed either, as the coaches voted him to be a reserve for the West in the All-Star Game in Indianapolis on February 18. It is the ninth selection of George’s career and he certainly deserved it as well.

He’ll just be hoping now that he can stay healthy the rest of the way. George missed the playoffs last season due to injury and that contributed to the Clippers being eliminated in the first round by the Phoenix Suns. If the injury bug stays away from the Clippers this time around, I can see them making a deep playoff run.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely.
