Paul George Says It’s Championship Or Bust Season For The Clippers: “Immediately, We Expected To Come In And Win It All.”

After landing Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the Los Angeles Clippers were instantly considered favorites to win the NBA title this season. There are big expectations around them and their players are well aware of that. For instance, George knows the pressure is big this year and the Clippers should aspire to win the championship and nothing else.

George joined Kevin Hart on the Laugh Out Loud Network’s “Cold as Balls”, where he talked about a variety of topics, including the Clippers’ aspirations this season after signing two of the best players in the league last summer. Talking about his first impressions when he joined the team, PG said (5.30 minute mark):

“Immediately, we expected to come in and win it all. We didn’t have no other, like this was going to take a year to get used to one another.”

He’s confident the Clippers will be there, competing, but they’ll have to work to recover the pace they had before the NBA entered hiatus.

“I think it’s going to go through stages. Yeah, when we first start back up, everybody is weird about no fans being there. I think honestly bro, we’re going to be so excited to hoop again, and so excited to ball again, that’s not going to matter.”

The Clippers made moves before and during the campaign to assemble the best possible team to compete for the championship. They have great pieces and led by George and Leonard, there aren’t many teams that can actually compete against the Clips. That’s why George believes winning the title is mandatory next October in Orlando.
