The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the most intriguing teams in the 2023 NBA playoffs, as they could shock the world and make a deep playoff run after spending a big chunk of the season as the 13th team in the Western Conference.

After the All-Star break, the Lakers got things back on track and are now ready to pull off a big upset and knock the Memphis Grizzlies out of the postseason. For Paul Pierce, they could do so much more than that now that their roster is healthy.

“The Dark horses right now, has got to be the Lakers. It’s got to be. They have been trash all year. Now all of a sudden, they are the dark horses to win it. Think about it. What are the odds of winning it right now? If you are not top-3 or 4, you the dark horses to win it.”

Of course, this is a shocker since Paul Pierce has been one of the biggest Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James critics. The 2008 NBA champion recently said the only ‘sh*tting’ he did during the 2008 Finals was on the Purple and Gold, which makes this statement odd to hear.

Still, Pierce might have a point there, as the Lakers have their two stars healthy and ready to go, and the rest of the team has shown they can take over games when the team needs them.

Now the challenge will be harder for them, as the Memphis Grizzlies have one of the most talented and annoying teams in the West. LeBron James has a history with them, and he could use that as fuel entering this series.

LeBron James And Anthony Davis Are Confident They Can Beat Grizzlies

James and Anthony Davis aren’t afraid of the Memphis Grizzlies, not even after they secured the No. 2 seed in the West. They know they have to work hard to beat any rival in the playoffs, and that’s exactly what they plan to do.

Beating the No. 2 seed in the West would be huge for them and would give them a boost to face the rest of the playoffs. This appears to be one of the best series of the first round of the playoffs, and fans are very excited to see the Lakers going against the Grizzlies.
