On paper, the Toronto Raptors should have enough talent to compete against any team in the league. With Pascal Siakam, O.G. Anunoby, Fred VanVleet, Scottie Barnes, Gary Trent Jr., and Precious Achiuwa, the Raptors are not short on talent.

For the Raptors, however, the talent appears to be fit, which is why their top two-way wing, O.G. Anunoby, has been among the players most involved in trade rumors this season. There’s even a report he’s unhappy in Toronto.

But in a chat with Michael Grange of Sportsnet, Anunoby set the record straight on his future with the Raptors and whether or not there’s any truth to the stories that he wants out.

“No. It is what it is… Just trying to get better every day. Some games you get a bigger role. It’s the same for everyone. It changes game to game.”

When asked if all the noise was getting to his head, Anunoby denied it was bringing any negative feelings.

“No, it doesn’t bother me. What can I do about it? I didn’t tell anyone to do that story or say whatever. It’s not my choice for whatever is going on to be going on. I can’t control it, so what’s the point of being mad about it?”

O.G. is one of the most coveted assets in the league right now. As a talented wing player who plays both ends of the floor, he’s a good fit for almost every team in the league and is sure to bring the Raptors a monster haul in return.

Anunoby Could Be Worth Up To Three First-Round Picks

The Raptors have not yet decided what moves they will make ahead of the deadline, but time is running out for them to make a change this season. If they do decide to blow it up and rebuild around Scottie Barnes, trading O.G. is the most obvious path to resetting their timeline.

“I think there’s a belief that Toronto could get as many as 3 first-round picks in a deal for O.G. Anunoby if they decided to move him.”

Only time will tell how all of this plays out, but every team in the league is monitoring the situation in Toronto. Over the next few days, we will hear plenty more about this team and some of the players they might consider trading.

Anunoby, one way or another, will be at the center of it all, and it will be interesting to sew where he ends up when the dust finally settles.
