LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated in the first round by the Phoenix Suns this season, an outcome that was far short of their title expectations. However, it is likely that the team will bounce back next season, and they have bolstered their roster by acquiring Russell Westbrook via trade and signing a lot of great veterans in free agency.

Every player on the team will likely do their part to try and improve on a personal level to help their team. That is no different for LeBron James, and it seems as though he has worked extensively to mold his physique this summer. In a recent pre-preseason presser, Rob Pelinka revealed that LeBron James has “slimmed up” and that his fitness level “stands out” going into next season.

LeBron has been in working hard. The thing that stands out is his fitness level. He’s slimmed up. We all know LeBron studies the greats, and adds things into his game, and I think going into this stage of his career, he’s made a decision to come back a little bit leaner, and I think that’s going to translate into his explosiveness and his quickness. He’s been very, very locked in with his training.

It is obvious that LeBron James seeks to improve his craft every offseason, and it seems as though he believed the best course of action was to become more explosive and agile. It will certainly be an exciting sight next season, and LeBron James looks ready for another great season, even at 36 years old.

There is a clear commitment among everyone in the Los Angeles Lakers organization to winning a championship this season, and LeBron James recently organized a mini-camp for the Los Angeles Lakers to build chemistry ahead of next season. Hopefully, all of James’ efforts pay off, and perhaps the Lakers could get back to the Finals next season.
