• Horry said he doesn’t want to argue with ‘an idiot’ while referring to Arenas

The James Bond of the NBA, Robert Horry, is one of the most successful modern players in the NBA. He is a seven-time champion but was a role-player on all the teams he was on. His career was disrespected by Gilbert Arenas, who called Horry ‘just a dude on a team.’ Horry has responded to the same and referred to Arenas as an idiot.

“Gilbert, at this point, is just trying to get you know, clicks. And my wife wanted me to respond to him what he said about me… I told my wife I didn’t want to hear it because I don’t argue with idiots. After all, the person on the outside doesn’t know who the idiot is.”

Horry went on to say that he told his wife he doesn’t care about Arenas’ opinions after she pressed him to publicly respond. He said everyone in America can have their own opinion, though he has a clear distaste for what Arenas said.

What Did Gilbert Arenas Say To Get Robert Horry This Upset?

Arenas had posed a question on his show where he asked if you’d rather have Robert Horry’s career with seven titles and $54 million or the career James Harden has enjoyed, making more money and earning more individual recognition without ever winning a title.

“He has seven championships, and he made 54 million which clearly tells you he was never a main guy; he was just a dude on a team. So the fact that, like Steph, his money matches his winning as the main player, right, so just because you have five rings and you won, you didn’t win off the back of you.”

Horry was crucial to all his championship teams. While he wasn’t a leading scorer, he pioneered the way modern 3-and-D wings play basketball. He was a standout defender and was known as ‘Big Shot Bob’ for his ability to hit clutch shots.

He was the perfect winning piece for Hakeem’s Rockets, Kobe and Shaq’s Lakers, and, lastly, Tim Duncan’s Spurs. Winning cultures were attracted to him for a reason.
