The Los Angeles Lakers were one of the most active teams around the NBA Trade Deadline. The Purple and Gold made some crucial changes to the roster in hopes of making a late push for clinching a spot in the NBA playoffs this season.

One of the biggest changes that fans saw in the roster of the Lakers was the departure of Russell Westbrook. Russ was included in a 3-team deal that sent him to the Utah Jazz. But there have been many reports that Westbrook will soon finalize a buyout with the Jazz.

This will allow Westbrook to join a playoff contender and hopefully help the team in winning an NBA Championship. One of those rumored teams is the Chicago Bulls, and if Russ joins the Bulls, he may end up seeing a familiar face.

Russell Westbrook And Patrick Beverley Can Become Teammates Again

Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley share a long history. The two players were once bitter rivals but fixed their relationship when they shared the court together for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Now, according to NBA insider K.C. Johnson, there is a chance that the two stars can reunite and play basketball together, but this time around, they will don the jersey of the Chicago Bulls.

Via NBC Sports:

The Bulls’ interest in Russell Westbrook should the veteran point guard reach a buyout from the Utah Jazz is legitimate. In fact, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski called them “a front-runner” to land Westbrook last week. Patrick Beverley’s camp and the Bulls also have had conversations, a source said, after the Marshall High product reached agreement on a buyout from the Orlando Magic. John Wall is another player to monitor.

While Patrick Beverley has already been waived by the Orlando Magic, Russ is yet to finalize his buyout with the Utah Jazz.

If and when Westbrook finds a way to become a free agent, he may end up joining the Bulls alongside Beverley. But again, as of now, these are nothing but rumors.
