Russell Westbrook impressed the Los Angeles Clippers after playing 21 games for the team last season. He earned a new two-year $8 million deal

Westbrook will turn 35 years old this season, but he’s still working on his game during the offseason. The biggest flaw in Russ’ game is his subpar shooting. For his career, Westbrook has shot just 43.6% from the field. The 2016-17 NBA MVP was recently seen practicing his shooting in a high school gym.

In the video, Westbrook can be seen attempting shots from way behind the three-point line. NBA fans noted that Brodie missed three shots and even got blocked by a kid toward the end of the video when attempting a shot near the rim.

“The child even blocking him at the end ties the clip together perfectly,” a fan commented.

“Even as an admitted Russ fan, this s**t hilarious,” another fan wrote.

“His reaction to the kid blocking him is great. Lol,” a fan loved Russ’ overreaction.

“FG 0/4, 3PT 0/3, 2 Turnovers,” a fan posted Westbrook’s stat line.

“Why are people taking this seriously? He obviously is f*****g around,” a fan defended Russ.

“His shot is so damn flat,” a fan added.

“The instinctual flop at the end is the icing on the cake,” a fan noted Westbrook’s flop at the end of the video.

“Helping them build a second gym with all those bricks I see,” a fan trolled Russ.

These were some hilarious reactions to the video. While most fans understood Westbrook was joking around, a few took the missed shots very seriously and roasted him for the misses.

Paul George Explains Why Re-Signing Russell Westbrook Was Important For The Los Angeles Clippers

In 21 games, Russell Westbrook averaged 15.8 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 7.6 APG for the Clippers. He became a crucial member of the team.

Following his return to the Clippers, Paul George was elated. George explained why it was important for the organization to bring back Brodie.

“Shoutout Russ. That’s a steal,” George said. “You get Russ at the minimum. That is a steal. Russ is doing so well off the court, that he’s not moved by money. It’s dope, man. I’m happy to have Russ back, he means so much to the team. Just that small stint that he had with us, he changed the whole culture in that short of a time.”

Building the right culture is very important for any team in the NBA. According to George, Westbrook brings that to the table for the Clippers. It will be exciting to see if Russ can win the first ring of his career in the 2023-24 NBA season.
