Kyrie Irving has found himself involved in quite a few controversies over the years but it is also clear that he does have a big heart.
Irving routinely helps people in need and, just this past month, donated $65,000 to fundraisers for people in need. It also appears he has big things in mind for his tribe, as he stated he is planning the next 1,000 years for them.
“I am planning the next 1,000 years for my Tribe. The next Generation has got to know I was here. I am Hélà”
When he says tribe, you’d assume he is talking about the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, of whom he is an official member. Irving has always shown an interest in getting more in touch with his roots, and his mother Elizabeth descended from the tribe.
It looks like Irving wants to ensure that they continue to flourish long after he is gone and is putting some plans in place for it. He has made donations to the tribe in the past and designed Nike shoes dedicated to the Lakota people as well.
Safe to say the coming generations will know about him, but Kyrie wants to do even more. Interestingly, they were actually the ones who also gave him the name Hélà back in 2018, and it means Little Mountain in the Lakota language.
Kyrie Irving States He Is At Peace
Despite all the criticism that he has received over the last few years for some of his actions, Irving isn’t really one to change his ways. He took to Instagram to share that he is at peace and had some other notable messages to put out as well.
Kyrie certainly is quite an interesting character who has become a very polarizing figure. It does seem, though, like he is good at heart and is trying to make the world a better place in his own way.
