Russell Westbrook is considered one of the most fashionable players in the NBA. Many fans often anticipate what flashy outfit Russ will don when he comes to the arena for a game. His fashion choices range from fire to bizarre, depending on whom you ask.
Westbrook’s fashion choices are just one of the many facets of his that make him such a polarizing figure in the NBA. Fans are either behind Russ or think that he isn’t worth the hype. Brodie’s game is divisive, but fans even take aim at his choices off the court, including his fashion.
But his new Lakers teammates clearly think highly of his fashion choice. So much so, that Russell Westbrook was voted ‘best dressed’ within the team by his Lakers teammates. In the same voting, LeBron James was named the ‘sneaker king’ of the Lakers locker room.
Westbrook got votes for ‘best dressed’ from Anthony Davis, Carmelo Anthony, Kent Bazemore, Malik Monk, Kendrick Nunn, Talen Horton-Tucker, Chaundee Brown, Mac McClung, and Russell Westbrook himself.
Interestingly, if we look at Brodie’s voting card (3rd slide), we see that he only voted on half of the categories; namely sneaker king (LeBron James), class clown (Dwight Howard), and best energy (DeAndre Jordan).
Perhaps Russ will seem more comfortable in Los Angeles, one of the biggest fashion hubs in the world.
While his outfit choices attract a lot of attention, maybe Westbrook’s clothing will get him a more positive reaction than the one fans usually give him. Most recently, fans flamed Russ for donning a skirt at New York Fashion Week.
Westbrook has made fashion a big part of his identity in the NBA. He consistently puts effort into his outfits.
And while not all of them garner a positive reaction from the fans, Russ clearly tries to mix it up when it comes to the clothes he wears in the public eye. Here are some of Westbrook’s best pregame outfits.
