Russell Westbrook Has Broken The Record For The Most Triple Doubles In A Season In Washington Wizards Franchise History

1 Min Read

After Russell Westbrook’s name was left off the season’s All-Star team, and the 2x Scoring Champ is now on a bid to remind the world just who he is and what he can do on the basketball court.

Finishing with 19 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists on Saturday night, Russ made Wizards history, becoming the guy with the most triple-doubles in one season.

Love him or hate him, it’s hard not to be impressed by the way Russ and the Wizards have been able to bounce back this season. After starting 6-17, they have won 7 out of their last 8 games, to bump up to 13-18 on the year.

Their miraculous turnaround is apparently, in part, due to a team meeting held by Beal and Westbrook, in which they established team roles for each individual player. It got everyone on the same page, and it seems team chemistry is at an all-time high.

Of course, Westbrook was deemed “ineffective” and “washed” just a few weeks ago, and here is leading the Wizards back into the playoff picture. This season, he’s averaging 19.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 9.7 assists on 42.4% shooting.
