Scottie Pippen‘s son Justin Pippen, who is currently a high school student at Sierra Canyon and committed to the University of Michigan, did an interview with Michigan’s Instagram. They asked him how his game was different from that of his brother, current NBA player Scotty Pippen Jr.‘s game, and he had a funny and interesting response.

“I feel like he’s a little stronger. So, he’s better at finishing, but he knows I shoot better than him. So, I got the upper hand in shooting, for sure. 50/50, yeah, he can’t contest my shots.”

Scotty Jr. didn’t stay quiet upon hearing these comments from his brother. He shared the video on his Instagram story and told people to not believe Justin’s words, as he is not being fully honest about their games.

“Don’t believe this.”

It’s clear the two brothers were just having some fun at each other’s expense, as they traded some friendly barbs on social media. Pippen Jr. is currently entering his second season in the NBA with the Grizzlies on a two-way contract. His summer league performances have impressed fans, with many believing that he has a future in the NBA as a player.

While he isn’t expected to have a long, stellar career like his father Scottie Pippen, he could have a long and fruitful career in the NBA as a role player if he continues to steadily improve his game, with stints in the G-League helping him perform at a high level in the years to come.

Pippen Jr. Representing The Second Generation Of NBA Stars

Scotty Pippen Jr. is one of several players who are trying to follow in their family’s footsteps and become NBA stalwarts. Most recently, Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round. These young players face a lot of pressure and scrutiny because of the legends their parents were.

Scotty Pippen Jr. hasn’t been able to earn himself a full-time guaranteed contract with an NBA team, and has to resort to bouncing back and forth between the NBA and the G-League, even signing two-way contracts. But he is staying resilient in his belief that he can become a star in the NBA in the years to come.

Players like Pippen Jr. and Bronny have to carry the weight of having superstars and legendary players as their parents and know that they will be compared to them whenever they’re on the court.

It is completely alright if these players aren’t able to reach the same heights that their parents did, as long as they can find happiness and success in whatever else they do.

These young players will continue to develop and grow into their own stars, and it would be best for fans to not try and compare them to their parents.
