Seth Curry On Getting Compared To Steph Curry After His Amazing Performance Against The Thunder: ”I Was Getting Good Shots… It Wasn’t Like I Was On A Steph-Type Streak.”

3 Min Read

For years, fans have become accustomed to seeing Stephen Curry terrorize the league with his out-of-the-world three-point shooting ability. He has had such a great impact on the modern-day NBA that the entire league has been racking up more and more three-pointers since the rise of Curry.

While fans are used to Steph putting up monster numbers and knocking down three-pointers after three-pointers, they are yet to expect the same from his brother Seth Curry. Seth is a great baller and an amazing shooter, but he is not on the same level as his older brother Steph.

But against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Seth brought out his A-game to the table. Following a 28-point outing from Seth, which included 7 three-pointers, the 76ers registered a comfortable victory against the Thunder.

Of course, it led to many fans comparing Seth to Steph. Upon hearing that, the Sixers guard was quick to deny these comparisons in the most humble ways possible.

“I was getting good shots. It wasn’t like I was 18 dribbles, half-court, 40-footers. It wasn’t like I was like on a Steph-type streak. I was finding good shots.”

On some days players can get off to a great start, which helps them in holding that momentum throughout the game. This was probably the case with Seth’s sensational scoring outburst against OKC.

Regardless, the 31-year-old is having a great season so far for the 76ers. He is currently averaging a career-high 15.3 points. Moreover, he is shooting 63.0% from beyond the arc, which is worth taking note of.

With the 76ers franchise in a tough situation due to the drama around their superstar Ben Simmons, it must be a relief to see other players rising to the occasion.

But can he do a similar task against his brother’s team? The 76ers and Warriors will lock horns against each other later in November 2021. It will be exciting to see who will emerge victorious between the two brothers.

If you look on paper, the Dubs are definitely the favorites to win that fixture, but you can never write off a team in the NBA.
