Seven Years Ago, Devin Booker Received An Invitation For Chris Paul’s Camp. Now They’re Teammates.

Chris Paul has been traded to the Phoenix Suns by the Oklahoma City Thunder, becoming the first blockbuster trade of the 2020 NBA offseason. The point guard spent only one season in OKC, leaving good memories, taking that team to the 5th spot in the West.

Now CP3 is keen to do the same with the Suns alongside one of the best scorers in the league in Devin Booker. These two have a history together and the coincidences are big for them.

Back in 2013, two years before Booker entered the NBA, he was invited to Chris Paul’s camp. Book couldn’t hide his excitement for the invitation and took to Twitter to show it. He was getting ready for college and CP3 saw the potential in him.

Booker then went to Kentucky and even though he couldn’t show all his talents there, he was picked as the 13th overall pick in the 2015 draft. Booker has blossomed into one of the best scorers in the league; he took the Suns to be the only unbeaten team in the NBA bubble, going on an 8-0 run.

Now CP3 and Booker will try to take the Suns to the next level, competing in a still stacked Western Conference but having one of the most interesting starting fives of all.
