Shannon Sharpe: ‘Lakers Will Win The 2020 NBA Championship, LeBron James Is The GOAT’

Former NFL player-turned-analyst Shannon Sharpe is confident that LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will win the NBA championship this season. The league is getting closer to its return and every debate around the association is pretty much about who will be more benefited by the suspension and who will win the title later this year.

Team owners are expected to vote to confirm the return date of the league, the format, and all the teams that will be in contention. That said, Sharpe believes Bron and his Lakers will have no competition on their way to the championship.

“GOAT James is the best player in the NBA, so it doesn’t matter. Your fate is sealed, Skip. It’s inevitable: Champs 2020, the Los Angeles Lakers,” Sharpe said to co-host Skip Bayless on UNDISPUTED while debating with him about who will win the NBA in 2020 on Wednesday.

Before the coronavirus outbreak in the US and the subsequent NBA suspension in March, the Lakers had the best record in the West, 49-14, being the team in the best shape in the league after back-to-back victories over the Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks, their biggest rivals for the title this campaign.

Bron got some rest, the rest of the squad got some rest, but so did the rest of the league. It’s not that clear that the Lakers will have an easy path to the championship, but they have the team to compete for it.
