Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most beloved NBA legends out there, starring in wholesome moments during his honored career, earning a lot of love and respect from fans, even if he destroyed their teams on the court.

O’Neal has been even more famous thanks to his gestures with the less privileged, and once revealed he often bought toys for underprivileged kids.

“About 20 years ago, in 1992, I got a call from my mother. She said, ‘Baby, I need to borrow some money.’ I asked why, and she said, the girls and boys club, underprivileged kids, we’re gonna buy some toys. So, I went out to check out the situation and it’s about a thousand kids. And I said, ‘You can’t buy toys for half the kids, I’ll take care of it.'”

Shaq explains that he had no idea how he would carry this out, but after spotting two big companies, he knew what he needed to do.

“Now, at the time I didn’t know what I was going to do, so messing around and all the way home, it was a U-Haul truck and the “Toys R Us”. I put my mind together, my boys, we got some U-Haul trucks. We went, we wiped the “Toys R Us” out and we bought the toys and then ‘Shaq-a-claus’ was created. I’m still doing it, and mommy, thank you. I love you.”
