Cambage can be clearly seen elbowing a Nigerian player and, after some seconds slapping her in the face. The video refers to the same incident where she allegedly called Nigerian players ‘monkeys’ and asked them to return to their country.
The shocking twist is the fact that the victim ran towards Cambage and threw a wild punch. No Australian player shockingly intervened in the fight and let Cambage pay the consequences of her actions.
Liz Cambage Was Called Out By Nigerian Players For Denying Using Racial Slurs Against Them
The 31-year-old Australian star recently gave an interview with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks. During the interview, Cambage denied all accusations against her.
However, Nigerian players Promise Amukamara and Sarah Ogoke called her out for lying.
“She called us Monkeys and told us to go back to our country. Yes, she said that,” Amukamara said.
While her teammate Ogoke said, “Just open mouth and be talking waaaa. Na lie abeg. We are not recruiting you and you definitely spewed racist profanities against us during our scrimmage.”
Following the release of the heated fight between the two sides, one thing is clear some words were exchanged. Now, whether those were racial slurs or not has to be figured out.
Regardless, there is no way that Cambage gets her wish fulfilled to play for the Nigerian national team, as she claimed during her interview with Rooks. After all, there is definitely some bad blood between the two sides.
